Timber Frame Cavity Barrier MP551 is designed to offer 60 minutes fire resistance between the outer brickwork and inner timber sheathing of timber frame constructions. It can also be used for the control of sound flanking transmission at wall junctions.
MP551 is manufactured using polythene enclosed non-combustible rockfibre, in sizes designed to be compressed by 15mm within the cavity - this “made to measure” cavity barrier design provides a minimum of 1 hour fire resistance and is crucial in sound applications where “flanking transmission” can be the weak link of an otherwise robust construction.
